Figuring out the right thing to say when someone is grieving is never easy. Although our words are meant to heal and our efforts are intended to make others feel better, sometimes we say things that hurt them or serve to invalidate their feelings. Being mindful of what we are saying and how we are saying it is a skill we can all develop, and it begins with kindness. Recognizing grief and allowing people to feel it, work through it, and express it in their own way and in their own time are key factors in developing that conscious understanding. I had the honour of being interviewed by Becky Olson on Breast Friends Cancer Support Radio Network and I would love for you to listen in as we explore the many facets of grief.
