Growing up in the foster system and living in eight different homes before the age of two-and-a-half had a huge impact on my life. The fallout was evident when I finally found my ‘forever home’ and wasn’t able to bond with my adoptive-mother in the way I imagine any child would want to. She seemed cold and distant, she made it clear I wasn’t exactly the child she had wanted, and I grew up with a lot of resentment toward her. Years later, when I started to piece together all the pieces, I realized she was also a victim of circumstance. As a guest on Esmie Lawrence’s podcast, Sprinting To Success, we discussed what it was like for me growing up as a product of the foster system, dealing with all these issues I had no idea how to express, and what finally enabled me to forgive my adoptive-mother and find peace. Please join us and discover how these childhood experiences transformed my life and led me down a path to helping others find their peace too.
